Again, this post is coming to you late-you can blame the holidays and new year, I know I am. 😉 As before, all observations are from the experiment itself.
Ah Day 3!
Today is special because it’s the day of the week that I actually wake up with my husband by my side and spend the morning together. I was a little worried about how it would go but I have the most incredible, supportive husband, and he was happy to do my new morning routine with me. Of course, even getting up at 6:30am is sleeping in for him-he’s up at 4:30am every morning(!).
Same basic routine as the past two mornings:
- Wake up (7am ‘sleep in’-I was too warm and snuggly with my husband to get up earlier)
- Splash water on my face
- Put on workout clothes
- Boot up workout (this time, Lower Body PiYo)
Today’s workout was BRUTAL. Normally I like PiYo and have no real issues doing it (you know, aside from being woefully out of shape). This morning was truly rough. I never realized how “warm” our bodies are when we do PiYo in the evening before dinner. (Our normal couple workout time).
Every part of my body was so incredibly stiff and unwilling to bend and move. It was straight up HARD to get through the workout. I was so thankful when it was over!
Workout conclusion: doing shrink session (which is a dance based body movement) is lower impact first thing in the morning, allowing me to get my heartrate up, heat up my body, and start the day light in heart. (Of course, every time I do Shrink Session I feel lighter and brighter, regardless of time of day).
As before, I’m really enjoying everything I can get done before 8am. As a couple, we got a TON done all before 9am and it felt great! Normally it would be noon when we got all of what we got accomplished done so it was really awesome to have that all checked off before 9am-I felt like we’d won the time lottery!
Tomorrow I’m back to waking up early on my own.
